Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients for your crust until you have a consistent dough. It shouldn't be too sticky or oily. Refrigerate the dough while you prepare the pie filling and topping. (See images 1 and 2)
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves for your filling and set aside.
Next in a separate bowl, mix together apples, your brown sugar mixture, and lemon juice.
Mix in the flour one tbsp at a time being mindful of how much liquid is in your mixture. If your apples contain a lot of juice, you will want to use all the flour (and maybe more) to balance it out. If not, you may want to use less. Set aside once you have finished. (See image 3)
For your pie topping, mix your brown sugar and nutmeg together in a large bowl. Add in the softened butter and cream together with a mixer.
Next add in flour and oats, mixing well with a wooden spoon until fully combined. Using your hands create crumbs from the dough for sprinkling (see image 4).
